Beginning at 5:30 those who want to can play a rated quick chess tournament Game/15;d5

For beginners and chess experts alike

Chess set not required 

 Registration from Noon to 1 p.m. 

 Registration fee of $10 

 Four Rounds of Play:  1 p.m., 2 p.m., 3 p.m, and 4 p.m. 

 4 sections of competition:  2 rated and 2 unrated 

 Options for Scholastic USCF Tournament Play and Non-USCF Tournament Play 

 Medals given to the following scholastic champions (K-3, K-5, K-8, and K-12) 

 Advanced Registration suggested but not required

Let's meet in the Curris Center on Thurs Sept 4 at 5 pm and

1.  5 PM  plan how to use Thursday nite this year.-- maybe go through a book

2.  5:30 PM  go over part of a game by World Champion Magnus Carlson that he played yesterday in the "strongest tournament in the history of the world" in St Louis.

3.  Those who want can continue the tournament and those who don't can play casual chess.
