OPEN TO: students in 12th grade and below who are unrated or rated below 900
(Stronger players can play in the amateur section of the MSU open which begins at 10 AM)
WHERE: Third floor, Curris Center, Murray St. Univ., Murray, KY
TYPE: swiss, 4 rounds (individual competition only)
1st round at 11:00, 2nd at 1 pm others asap,
awards asap after last round
TIME CONTROL: game / 30 (30 minutes per player per game)
SECTIONS: Novice: students in 12th grade and below who are unrated or rated below 900.
Beginner: students in 5th grade and below who are unrated or rated below 600
TROPHIES: NOVICE: 1st, 2nd, and third in each of: HS, MS, Elem and Primary
BEGINNER: 1st, 2nd, and third in each of: Elem and Primary
HS=K-12, MS=K-8, Elem=K-5, Pri=K-3
ENTRY FEE: $10 !!! MUST BE RECEIVED BY October 23rd !!!
REGISTRATION: !!!!! ADVANCE ENTRIES ONLY !!!!!
USCF MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED and is available on line or at the site;
Current USCF rates: for ages 12 and under Scholastic membership is: Premium $24 this includes 6 issues of Chess Life for kids or (Regular $17 – publications are online); for ages 15 and under Youth membership is: Premium $28 this includes 6 issues of Chess Life or (Regular $22 – publications are online); for ages 24 and under Young Adult membership is: Premium $33 this includes 12 issues of Chess Life or (Regular $26 – publications are online).
Memberships can be obtained online at USChess. They will also be available on site.
